2017-2018 Event Season Information

Theme for the 30th Season:

“Kindling a Light in the Darkness”

“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to
kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.”
~ Carl Jung

Our initial reaction to dark experiences, to depression, anxiety, trauma, and tragedy, is understandably to avoid or escape. One of the unique aspects of Jungian psychology is that it suggests doing just the opposite. It urges us to go into the darkness, to dialogue with the darkness, befriend the darkness, and discover what it is trying to tell us. It is through this process, rather than through avoiding or escaping it, that the light of our own truth will emerge into consciousness. It is this capability that distinguishes our being human as opposed to any other type of living creature.

Come join us as we explore Jung’s message on the power of kindling the light of our truth by facing our unconscious fears… all within a supportive, welcoming community of mental health professionals and others actually seeking personal awareness, exploration, and growth.

“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul.
One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
~ Carl Jung
