“Only boldness can deliver [us] from fear. And if the risk is not taken, the meaning of life is somehow violated, and the whole future is condemned to hopeless staleness, to a drab grey lit only by will-o’-the-wisps.”

EVENT SEASON THEME DESCRIPTION

ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS THIS YEAR WILL BE VIA ZOOM

These are certainly interesting times.
These are times that can tap into our fears more than ever.
Many foundational beliefs seem to be crumbling.
We should never underestimate the power of our fears.

Jung had something to say about fear, namely, that it is the spirit of evil, and that only boldness or thought, feeling, and action can deliver us from its bondage.
And in the name of this boldness, the Center for Jungian Studies is going to offer programs this year that emphasize different approaches to responding to our fears.

We begin with a new format in which we will read and discuss some of Jung’s original writings. The Center’s Board has been wanting to do this for a while and we are going to begin with reading a chapter in what is perhaps Jung’s seminal work, Symbols of Transformation. It focuses on fear and boldness.
The Center will also offer a workshop on brain neuroplasticity and maintain our well-being in difficult times.
We also have the privilege of offering two special presentations by noted author and Jungian analyst DR. JAMES HOLLIS who will speak on comedy and psychopathology.
There will be other presentations as the year progresses.

Come join us as we explore how Jungian Psychology is capable of providing firm guidance for integrating our different perspectives, a guidance we so desperately need in these confusing times… all within a supportive and welcoming community of mental health professionals and others actively seeking personal awareness, exploration, and growth.
